15 Years, One Baby-Now-Teenager, and a Return to Writing, Without AI
You know, I was getting tired of watching, reading, and looking at the amount of AI slop on the internet nowadays. So I decided, you know what? I am going to restart writing, with no AI assistance at all!
Yes, just like the old days, using just my mind. Haha!
Like a muscle that has not been used for a long time and slowly shrivels and wastes away, I don't want that for my mind. I want to think for myself and not let Gen AI think for me. (And hopefully save the environment in my own small way too. Thank you, Stephanie Tia, for educating me on that!)
So, after that long but, I feel, necessary introduction, why am I writing this post?
Well, I noticed that it has been 15 years since I started this blog!
Cray cray, right?
What started as a few posts about our journey into becoming parents has now seen our "baby" become a teenager in what feels like the blink of an eye!
So, what have we learned?
Well, for one, guide your kids; don't push them into dreams that you once had. Let them discover the world at their own pace. Yes, as parents, we have the responsibility to lead them, but do it in love and as Christians, with the fear of the Lord, for it is truly the beginning of all wisdom.
To you young parents, or parents-to-be: you WILL make mistakes. You will not get everything right, and that's okay.
Learn from your mistakes. Seek your elders' advice (they are human too, so use your judgement!), but more importantly, let God guide you on your journey as a parent.
My wife and I have always relied on Him, and He has never let us down. There were times when we didn't understand why certain things happened the way they did, but faith, prayer, and worship have been our tools throughout this journey.
And somehow, 15 years later, here we are, looking at the little baby we once wrote about, now a teenager, and wondering where all those years went.
God bless you all.
And I will try to write more as time permits.
And yes, no unnecessary AI, please! 😄

aww
